Meet Simi & Sam
The Temple of Incense story began in 2012, on a little market stall on Portobello Road, when two sisters from South London - Simi and Sam Aydee - set out to bring you the best in world-class incense.
"The ritual of burning incense is something that has been engrained in our lives for as long as we can remember, and we've now dedicated everything to sharing that magic with the world."
We like to burn incense by Season or by mood. Certain scents are perfect for balmy Summer evenings and others for crisp Winter mornings. There are ones to help us work and others to calm and cleanse, so it depends on the day.
Where is your incense made?
The ingredients like resins, woods and oils are procured from around the world to find the best we can. Some sticks are hand rolled here in the UK and others in India by people that really love what they do.
What is your top selling incense?
Our top selling incense is Oudh and has been consistently for the last 10 years. Heady, woody and luxuriously sensual - it's everyone's favourite.
Which is your favourite incense?
Our favourite has always been Oudh too but recently we've been burning Oudh Extreme and Tulsi a lot. It took us almost a decade to bring out another Oudh because it had to be magnificent and we think we did that.
What is your biggest achievement so far?
At the risk of sounding cliche, we get really happy when people message in and say our incense has helped them in some way or another and that they're loving our products. So we consider it an achievement when what we do, makes other people happy. Also, the Guardian wrote about us a couple months ago - that was pretty cool.
Do you have anything planned for this year that you can share with us?
The most exciting thing this year has been the launch of our Oudh Extreme. It's only March though, so who knows what the rest of the year will bring - watch this space.
